Watt and Murray, Fasti, 261: Richard was an Englishman and canon of St Andrews. He was active at the papal curia when he was appointed to the bishopric of the Isles/Sodor. He was consecrated at Perugia on or before 14 March 1253. He died in Cumbria and was buried at Furness Abbey on 25 March 1275. He was perhaps surnamed 'de Natherton'.
He was also once chaplain of John Toledo, cardinal priest of St Laurence in Lucina.
