Biography
Watt, Graduates, 401-402: Henry was the son of William and Helewisia, and took his name from the burgh of Montrose (ANG). He was master and chaplain of Bishop Gregory of Brechin and was in his familia, appearing as a witness 1219×46. He visited Durham in the company of Bishop Robert of Ross and with his parents. He is probably identifiable with the Henry, chaplain of Montrose, who appears as a witness to the previous bishop of Brechin, Radulf, and archdeacon Gregory, the future bishop, dated to 1199×1209.
