Watt and Murray, Fasti, 239, 244: Richard occurs as dean of Hassendean, 1175×95, and was probably the same person as Richard of Hassendean found 1164×74. He occurs as dean of Teviotdale 1175×80 and 1180×85. He also appears as an official of Glasgow 1175×1 August 1189.
He is probably the 'archdeacon' (sic for dean) who appears in a charter of Robert Bruce (3/106/6).
