Gerard, archbishop of York (d.1108)

Biography
Fasti Ecclesiae Anglicanae 1066-1300, vi, 1-7: Gerard was the nephew of Walkelin, bishop of Winchester (1070-98) and of Simeon, abbot of Ely (1082-94). He was royal chancellor of William I and William II and was consecrated bishop of Hereford on 15 June 1096. He was translated to the see of York in January 1101, travelling to Rome in 1102. He died at Southwell on 21 May 1108.
