Alan, abbot of Balmerino (d.1236)

Biography
Watt and Shead, Heads, 12: Alan may have been the unnamed abbot who put his seal to a charter at Kinloss on 20 September 1229 (Mor. Reg., no. 77). He brought his new community to Balmerino from Melrose on 13 December 1229 and died on 28 June 1236.
