- Robert, king of Scots, notes that he has given for the salvation of his soul and of the souls of his ancestors and successors the kings of Scots, to the Friars Preachers of Ayr 20 pounds of his special alms for the support of their church and houses paid annually from the first rents of his mills and of his burgh of Ayr on Pentecost and Martinmas by equal portion by the hand of his chamberlain of Scotland.
