David, king of Scots, noting that he received into his hands from John Menteith, knight, his relative, the lands of Strath Gartney (PER), then in the sheriffdom of Perth, now in the sheriffdom of Stirling, and infefted the late John of Logie in those lands; informed now by his council that his lord father gave these lands, from the forfeiture of the late John of Logie knight, father of the late John of Logie; gave hereditarily by his charter which the king now sees, in free barony to the late John Menteith, father of the said John Menteith and his niece Helen de [Hay?], his spouse, in free marriage, and they died legitimately vested and seised in the lands; the king now restores the lands to John Menteith as they were before the gift to the late John of Logie.
