King Alexander II writes to R[alph], prior of Durham and Master H., canon of Florence, since there is an indult from Roman See that causes which have originated in his kingdom should not be taken away to other judges outside kingdom; and that S., clerk of S. Eustachio in Rome, presumes to summon and unjustly trouble abbot and convent of Kelso; he kindly requests their caution, that out of reverence for Apostolic See they do not proceed to higher authority, as indult from Roman Curia preserves his immunity intact, and it would not be possible to obtain a sure judgment in matter.
