William Comyn, earl of Buchan, to augment the divine cult and foment the religion, for the welfare of the soul of himself, Margerie his spouse, his heirs, ancestors, successors, parents and all his friends, has given, granted and by his charter established to Deer Abbey all his lands of Barry (BNF) with pertinents lying in the barony of Strathisla and in the sheriffdom of Banff, in free forest, with all woods for the use of the buildings and the repairs of the monastery of Deer, by stated bounds, in feu and heritage in perpetuity, without secular service, exaction or demand, save the service of the lord king.
