Pope Gregory IX writes to the abbots of Lindores and Scone and the prior of Scone, noting that the abbot and convent of Dunfermline have made known to him that certain of his predecessors had conceded certain lands, granted by the kings of Scotland and other faithful for the sustenance of the brethren and hospital, to the great loss of the monastery. He thus commands them to find which lands were illicitly alienated from them and restore right and property to them, compelling the malefactors through ecclesiastical censure without appeal. If all of them cannot take part, then let two of them do it.
