Robert of Shotton has given, granted and by this charter established to Kelso Abbey, in free and perpetual alms, five acres of land in the territory of Shotton (Northumberland) near the river which divides the kingdom of England and the kingdom of Scotland. He gave this land to them for the soul of his wife and for the salvation of his soul and all of his ancestors and successors.
