‘Keresban’ has been identified at the northwesternmost segment of Dalmellington parish (AYR), along the River Doon, between Polnessan Burn and Dunaskin Burn. On the identification of places, see Michael Ansell, ‘Carsphairn and Dalmellington Re-visited’, Journal of Scottish Name Studies, 2 (2008), 1-10. Cf. Barrow, Anglo-Norman Era, App. B, 177.
