Document 2/158/12 (Newb. Reg., C.O., no. 31)

Description
Pope Clement [V?] addresses the dean of the church of Dunblane and states that the abbot and convent of Newbattle appealed to the pope about people wickedly presuming to detain, and do other specified things, to their property. On the account of this, the pope mandates that all the detainers of the teinds, renders and other goods of the monastery, should restore, relieve and also expend to them the full satisfaction of everything owed. If they do not, they should be declared excommunicate.
