Brian fitz Alan, keeper of the castle of Forfar and Dundee, has received from John of Cramond, forty pounds of sterling from the escheats on the northern part of the Firth of Forth, on behalf of Sir Alexander de Balliol, chamberlain of Scotland, and Master Robert Heron, rector of the church of Ford, [who was made] an associate to the same by the lord king of England, overlord of Scotland, as part of the payment of his wages for the custody of castles of Forfar and of Dundee.
