- Sir William of Braytoft, the knight, keeper of the castles of Inverness and Dingwall, has received by the hand of Thomas Pimor, provost of Inverness, eighteen pounds of sterling from the ferme of the burgh in the year of grace 1291 as part of the wages granted to him by the lord king of England for the custody of the said castles.
