John Comyn, son and heir of the late Lord John Comyn, has given, granted, and by this his present charter established all his land of Cardney (PER) to William of Cargill and Beatrice his spouse, a relative of the grantor, in feu and heritage, with all pertinents, for an annual render of 1d. at Pentecost for all secular exaction.

The grantor is John, son of the John Comyn of Badenoch who was murdered by Robert Bruce or his men at Dumfries. The grantor John was himself killed at Bannockburn, on the English side. John’s sister Joan had married David of Strathbogie, earl of Atholl.
