Henry of Cobham, farmer of the castle and city of Rochester, allowed £4 3s. 9d. paid to Robert of Ardrossan, a Scottish prisoner in the castle, from Michaelmas 1310 till 30 August 1311, when he was discharged; and £16 for sustenance of 48 cart-horses sent to Scotland in the king’s service with 12 carts in the first year.
