Description
Robert, king of Scots, informs his collectors of the great custom on wool, pelts, woolfells, and hides that William de Wald faithfully paid his custom to the king at Aberdeen owed on one sack of wool; the same for John Hovyd for 18 sacks of wool, 8 loads (lastis) and 9 dickers (dacris) and a half dicker and two hides (coreis); William of Aberlady for half a sack and 9 stones of wool and 50 pelts of woolfell, and sailors for 18 stones of wool, carried in the ship called 'Doneland' from Zierikzee of which William de Wald is master. He commands that they and the sailors be permitted to transmit their goods freely and without impediment. Dated at Aberdeen by the hands of the beloved burgesses Isaac the clerk, Richard of Elgin, and Robert Lamb, keeper of his cocket.
